Plan

Start your project right by planning ahead.

Planning your cabinetry requirements before ordering is essential for the success of your project.

Taking the time to carefully consider your storage requirements, the layout of the room, and your personal style preferences can help you avoid costly mistakes and ensure that your cabinetry is functional and aesthetically pleasing. Provence Brothers’ pre-designed cabinetry is designed with function and aesthetics at the forefront of the mind.

Here are five tips to assist with the planning process:

1. Start your planning from and around your critical areas: The layout of the room will impact the placement and configuration of your cabinetry and appliances. Consider the location of windows and doors, as well as the flow of traffic through the room. Our pre-designed options were designed for specific areas and layouts.

2. Determine your storage needs: Consider the items you need to store and how much space you require to store them. Make a list of everything you need to store, from small kitchen appliances to bulkier items like pots and pans. As you order the cabinetry check that you have sufficient storage for the items listed.

3. Choose the right materials: For some designs we’ve created a mood board with all the colours and finishes, or you can choose individual finishes and colours. This will help you select complimentary materials that fits your personal style. Select materials that are durable for high traffic areas. Laminate, vinyl and painted doors are popular finishes for cabinetry, each with its unique set of pros and cons.

4. Pay attention to details: In our pre-designs we’ve allowed for required filler panels to enable all doors and drawers to open in corners and against walls. The smallest details can make a significant difference in the overall appearance and functionality of your cabinetry. Think about features like lighting, hardware, and decorative accents that can add a touch of personality to your space.

Order

Order using your specs as a guide.

We have made ordering custom cabinetry easy with an intuitive platform. Once you have your design finalised, the ordering process is convenient and streamlined.

To assist with the online ordering platform and process, we have a few tips.

View our platform as an ordering and quoting tool, rather than a design tool. Before ordering, design your cabinets as you will need to customize your cabinets according to your specifications, including dimensions, materials, and finishes.

Once you have created a new job on the system, you will need to create a room to be able to add products. A “room” should be viewed as an area like a kitchen or laundry, or section section thereof. This is important because the room settings and product defaults will be applied to all the cabinetry added to that room. This can however be changed on a per-cabinet basis if needed.

Depth entered should only reflect carcass depth and excludes the thickness of the doors/drawer fronts, as this is crucial when ordering panels. Panel depth should be calculated as carcass depth + door thickness + 1.5mm.

To ensure accuracy, use the PDF “Job Properties List” to check and double-check the order before finalizing it. This is the same document we review on our side when checking your order. This will ensure that all details, including dimensions, materials, finishes, and accessories, are correct and you receive the cabinets that meet your specific requirements.

We prefer to use Hettich Innotech White and Blum Antaro drawers as our hardware of choice, as they are both soft-closing with a lifetime guarantee. Hettich is priced a bit better than Blum Antaro drawers. It’s also important to note that matching hinges for Hettich Innotech are Sensys, while matching hinges for Blum Antaro drawers are Blum inserta. Both are also soft-closing.
