- Start your planning and design from and around your critical areas: The layout of the room will impact the placement and configuration of your cabinetry and appliances. Consider the location of windows and doors, as well as the flow of traffic through the room. Function and aesthetics are equally important.
- Determine your storage needs: Consider the items you need to store and how much space you require to store them. Make a list of everything you need to store, from small kitchen appliances to bulkier items like pots and pans. As you design the cabinetry check that you have sufficient storage for the items listed.
- Choose the right materials: Creating a mood board with all the colours and finishes will help you select compimentary materials that fits your personal style. Select materials that are durable for high traffic areas. Laminate, vinyl and painted doors are popular finishes for cabinetry, each with its unique set of pros and cons.
- Pay attention to details: Allow for filler panels to enable all doors and drawers to open in corners and against walls. The smallest details can make a significant difference in the overall appearance and functionality of your cabinetry. Think about features like lighting, hardware, and decorative accents that can add a touch of personality to your space.

When you start a job, you have the option in the “Room settings” to choose if you want the hardware supplied and drilled for or drilled only. If you ask for hardware to be supplied, everything needed to build the cabinets will be included. Fixings for cabinet to cabinet and cabinets to wall is excluded.
Each part will have a label with a product number and description on. This will tell you which part of which cabinet it is. We recommend that you sort all parts per cabinet number before you start assembly. Leaning them gently against a wall works well.
We will do all the drilling for the hardware. You will need to cut some filler scribes and filler panels down that goes between the walls, floors, ceiling and cabinets and also make cut outs for plumbing and electrical services.
You can do this in a few ways. Most cabinet makers will screw them in place through the bottom of the base cabinets. You can also glue them to the legs or buy some kick clips from us. The kick clips screws to the back of the kick board and clips on to the adjustable legs.
There is no rule that says you do need to have a qualification to buy and install our cabinets. A decent amount of experience is highly recommended, since our cabinets are designed and made mostly for trade professionals.
As our cabinetry is custom made based on specifications, we are unable to offer any returns or refunds. For this reason, please ensure all your specifications are entered correctly and double check your order before you submit. We will not be held liable for cabinetry that does not meet your specifications if you’re ordering is inaccurate.

By prioritizing these areas, you can ensure that they are properly aligned and integrated with the rest of the cabinetry.
- Follow a natural order when installing custom cabinetry. This typically includes fitting the carcasses to the wall and each other, followed by the application of panels, the fitting of wall and ceiling scribes, kickboards, and adjustable shelves. Lastly, fit the door and drawer fronts. This approach ensures that the installation is carried out in a logical and efficient manner, minimizing the risk of errors or complications.
- Keep the work area clean and tidy by sweeping up regularly. This simple step can make a big difference in ensuring a smooth and successful installation. It can also help to avoid damaging soft-closing drawer runners with dust or debris, especially fine cement and benchtop dust, which can affect their performance over time.
- When installing upper cabinets, use “Stan the Stands” to help support them when screwing them to the wall. This tool provides a stable and reliable support system that can help to ensure that the cabinets are level and secure.
- For a floating vanity or living room cabinet, fit a piece of 20×40 timber to the wall to rest the cabinets on and screw them in place. To ensure a neat and professional finish, stop the timber about 200mm short from the seen sides of the cabinet to ensure it is not visible.
